Nelson is an extremely confident dog! That’s to be expected with his breed and is a fantastic trait! Along with that confidence though came boisterous tendencies, struggling to greet people calmly or settle at home. We needed to lay the foundations in the form of excellent obedience to tackle all the above areas.

Starting with basic obedience, we quickly moved into more intermediate level stuff as Nelson picked it up so quickly! We introduced a ‘Place’ command to get him to settle at home more. Given his confident nature, rather than swimming against the tide we worked WITH the dog. By rewarding him with a tug and channelling his desire to burn off steam down this path as a reward for displaying desirable behaviour, we were able to make huge improvements in all areas!

Nelson is continuing to make great steps forward now with his owners and is a truly fantastic dog!
